David Beckham has admitted that he would support the Communist Party if he were Chinese, simply because he would have no choice.
The sporting icon is touring China, promoting his manufactured lifestyle, under the guise of football ambassador
And, even though the former England captain has no real understanding of political systems, he insists he is a fan of China’s repressive regime.
He said: “I love how China is controlled by one party, who constantly lie to their people.
“That’s the thing I admire about this country. The Communist Party don’t allow people to think or act for themselves, isn’t that great?
“So many Chinese people are born into the world, and then lied to their entire lives, before dying totally destitute, not knowing the sinister truth surrounding their country.
“It’s an amazing set up, it really is.”
The midfielder then spoke about how the Communist Party have influenced the upbringing of his children.
He said: “When Victoria and I learned of online censorship in China, we immediately blocked sites in our own house.
“For instance, if our children ever search for Rebecca Loos or Spice World, they are forced to watch a Sky News report about how powerful our brand is.”
