After signing the Merseyside club’s long serving manager David Moyes for zero pence, United now intend to take the team by the proverbial ankles.
Everton chairman Bill Kenwright insists he is thrilled with the EPL champion’s interest in the club.
He said: ” It’s an honour to be plundered by such a great institution such as Man Utd.
“First they took Wayne Rooney, which I offered for free, but agents and lawyers intervened.
“Now they have taken our great manager and probably half of the first team squad. Fucking glorious.”
United chief executive David Gill has admitted that impoverished Everton are an easy target.
He said: “They have a fantastic history. But the fact is this; they have not progressed or grown as a business.
“We are capitalists and clubs such as this are our prey. We feed off them and then move onto the next one.
“Fans may resent us, but we are ruining the game that they love and they should respect us for it.”
