Ferguson made the claim in his autobiography, which also asserts that Gary Pallister is a chain smoking hermaphrodite.
A source close to the former Manchester United manager revealed that Fergie was close to landing the lucrative role.
“It was 1985, a year before he got the United job. Alex flew to LA where he auditioned for the part of Blanche.
“The producers were dazzled with his display, and seriously considered casting him. But, they decided to go with an American woman, rather than a red faced cantankerous Scotsman whose breath smells like something Russell Brand would wipe from his arse after an orgy.
“In fact, he was even called back years later, to screen test for the part of Hilary in the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. But by that time, things were going well at Old Trafford, so he reluctantly turned them down.”
Ferguson’s book promises to blow the lid off a number of United secrets, including Paul Scholes being the illegitimate child of Cilla Black.
While the club have refuted this claim, Scholes himself has broken his silence.
He said: “Obviously it’s hard, being a United legend, yet having a mother who is the Queen of Scouseland.
“If the stories are true, Cilla used to get pumped harder than a chef at fat camp, resulting in hoards of ginger off spring like me, scattered all over the North West.
“I’ve come to terms with it. I mean, I’m self-harming a lot more and dream of dying everyday. But aside from that, I’m ok.”
